ARCHITECTURE

Kajol practises architecture through writing. Informed by her background in architecture, she engages with the contemporary by investigating history and using writing as a primary tool. She considers herself a spatial agent, advocating for interdisciplinary collaborations with the perspective that architecture shares blurred boundaries with various disciplines. Her research interest focuses on decoloniality in India, which is central to her MA Dissertation titled Between the Coloured and Cultured: Narratives on Colour from India. The research critically examined the complex and nuanced interactions between colonisers and the colonised, through interwoven histories of colour, taking specific objects in textile, art, and architecture. She completed her MA in History and Critical Thinking in Architecture at the Architectural Association, London (2022-2023) and her Bachelor of Architecture at the College of Engineering Trivandrum, India (2014-2019). Before moving to London, she practised as an architect and architectural writer in India for three years.
